NORWALK, Conn. – A Norwalk High School freshman has been charged with making online threats against school staff members.
School officials say another student saw the online threats early Monday morning and alerted authorities. The freshman was arrested a few hours later and charged with threatening. His name is being withheld under juvenile offender laws.
Authorities say they found two handguns in the teen's home that are legally owned by his father, who voluntarily gave the weapons to police. Officers say the guns were properly secured and the student didn't have access to them.
Police have increased security at the high school, but say there is no continued threat.
