The family of a New York City teenager shot to death by police is planning to speak out.

Kimani Gray's mother, Carol Gray, and other relatives are holding a press conference Thursday afternoon in Brooklyn.

Police say 46 protesters have been arrested following a candlelight vigil on Wednesday night. Most are charged with disorderly conduct. One police officer suffered a gash in the face after he was hit by an object tossed from a building.

A spokesman for Gray's parents said previously that they would not speak publicly as long as there was violence.

Authorities say 16-year-old Gray was shot Saturday night by two plainclothes police officers after he pointed a gun at them.
