Florida imam back on the witness stand in Pakistani Taliban terrorism support case

The imam at a South Florida mosque will take the witness stand for a second day in his trial on charges of funneling cash to the Pakistani Taliban terror organization.

Hafiz Khan is denying any connection to the Taliban or providing money for weapons or bombs. Prosecutors say the 77-year-old cleric funneled at least $50,000 to the terror organization.

Khan says the money was for the poor, for his extended family and for a religious school he owns in Pakistan's Swat Valley. Khan is imam at a downtown Miami mosque.

Khan faces up to 15 years in prison if convicted on each of four terrorism support-related counts. He has been jailed since his May 2011 arrest.

Charges were previously dropped against two of Khan's sons in the U.S.
