Breaking news out of The Vatican. Pope Benedict XVI will resign on February 28th. It is a surprise announcement. The 85 year old says he no longer has the strength to carry out his Papal duties. Pope Gregory XII was the last Pope to resign.. in 1415!

A twister tore through Hattiesburg, Mississippi yesterday causing lots of damage, but no deaths. The twister is believed to have also hit Forrest, Marion and Lamar including the campus of the University of Southern Mississippi.

The Northeast digging out after the historic blizzard. 180,000 still without power in Massachusetts. Parts of Connecticut got three feet of snow!

Some Republicans threatening to hold up Presidential nominations. Senator Inhoffe threatening a possible filibuster of Hagel to be Defense Secretary, and Lindsey Graham says he'll hold up nomination until he gets more answers on the Benghazi terror attack.

The manhunt for former police officer Christopher Dorner still going on.. He's killed three people already, and has managed to elude one of the largest manhunts in California history.

The trial of Jodi Arias resumes today in Phoenix. Arias has admitted killing her boyfriend. Police say she stabbed him at least 27 times, slit his throat, and shot him in a jealous rage. She claims it was self defense.

An Atlas V carrying a satellite to monitor the planet launches today from California.
