A cable company has issued a company-wide ban on certain gun ads weeks after a mass shooting at a Connecticut elementary school killed 20 children and six adult staff members.
"We no longer accept ads showing semiautomatic weapons and guns pointed at people," Time Warner Cable said in a statement. "We stand by this policy. If it's essential to a business owner to show this kind of imagery in their commercials, there are other advertising options in the marketplace."
Meanwhile hundreds of people are gathering in state capitals nationwide to rally against President Obama's sweeping package of gun-control proposals.
Approximately 600 people turned out Saturday for speeches in Austin, Texas. Many were seen carrying signs with message such as "An Armed Society is a Policy Society," and "The Second Amendment Comes from God."
