Authorities say two Utah brothers are dead after being caught in an avalanche, despite their parents' efforts to revive them.

The Wasatch County Sheriff's office says a Heber City family was snowmobiling near town Friday when three children were swept away in a small avalanche.

One child was OK, but a 14-year-old boy and an 8-year-old boy were buried in the snow slide that ran down to a creek.

The office says the boys were located after about 30 minutes and the parents performed CPR until a helicopter rushed them to a hospital.

But despite extensive efforts to resuscitate them, both boys died.

Sheriff Todd Bonner says he thinks he can speak for the community in saying of the family: "We love them, we look up to them, and we will do anything we can to help them through this."
