A Massachusetts high school says police officers will be administering breathalyzer tests on students as they enter school dances from now on after students kept showing up drunk.

MyFoxBoston.com reports the breathalyzers are part of the superintendent of the school district's plan to reduce drinking at functions at Belmont High School.

The school's administrators say they have reduced the number of school dances annually since several students were rushed to the hospital  in 2005 with alcohol poisoning during a school dance. However, the drinking has continued.

Other Massachusetts cities and towns already use breathalyzers at school functions, according to MyFoxBoston.com.
