SHELBY, N.C. – Next week jury selection begins for the murder trial of a man accused of killing an elderly woman in a small North Carolina city.
Fifty-three-year-old Donald Borders is only charged in the 2003 death of 79-year-old Margaret Tessneer in Shelby, about 50 miles west of Charlotte.
But survivors of two other elderly women found dead in similar circumstances around the same time want to know whether he's behind those deaths, too.
Nearly a decade later, the deaths of 85-year-old Lottie Ledford and 87-year-old Lillian Mullinax remain unsolved. Ledford's nephew pressed for police take a closer look at her case.
