Maryland day care worker charged with child abuse

UPPER MARLBORO, Md. –  Prince George's County Police have charged a day care worker with child abuse and assault.

Nineteen-year-old Johnathan Cummings of Upper Marlboro was arrested Monday. He has been released on $35,000 bond.

Police were called to the day care center in Upper Marlboro. Officer say a witness captured the alleged abuse on video.

Authorities say the Department of Education's Office of Child Care issued a cease and desist order against the unlicensed day care, barring it from providing day care services until it is licensed.
