Phoenix bank employee taken hostage, device placed on neck

Phoenix police and the FBI are investigating a hostage situation reported Saturday morning.

A Bank of America employee was taken hostage by an unknown male suspect and driven to the bank.

When other employees began to arrive, the suspect fled.

Phoenix police responding to the scene found the suspect had placed a device placed on the employee's neck.

Bomb squad personnel safely removed the device.

FBI and the Phoenix Police Department are conducting a joint investigation.
