A California woman is claiming her apartment is so riddled with mold that mushrooms are beginning to sprout from her carpet.
Natalie Wise says her apartment has flooded six times in the two years she has lived there with her 11-year-old severely asthmatic son, Fox40 reports. She claims the problem has led to fungi growing indoors.
“I looked down to vacuum and I saw this (fungus growing in the carpet),” Wise told Fox40. “At first, I thought he (Wise’s son) had peeled an orange, and I got down closer and I realized it was a mushroom.”
Wise claims she has tried to report the flooding problem, but the resident manager treated her with "contempt."
Fox40 contacted the woman's management company, but was told no one was available to speak.
