Phoenix police say an 11-year-old girl who was taken by her mother from Phoenix Children's Hospital Wednesday before her leukemia treatment was finished is in grave danger.

MyFoxPhoenix.com reports that the girl, named Emily, was brought to the hospital by her parents to receive treatment and a chest catheter was placed into her heart. Her arm was also amputated due to infection.

Surveillance video shows the girl being walked out of the hospital by her mother, who police say changed the child's clothing and removed her IV from the catheter.

Doctors tell MyFoxPhoenix.com the girl could die if doctors don't medically remove the catheter.

Detectives have searched locally and outside the state for the girl and her mother, whose name is Norma, according to an AZCentral.com report.

Anyone with information about the whereabouts of the family is asked to contact Phoenix police.
