BUTTE, Mont. – Two Butte high school students are charged with breaking into a medical marijuana shop and stealing marijuana after two other students bragged online about purchasing some of the pot.
The Montana Standard reports the boys, who are cousins, face five felonies each: burglary, two counts of possession of dangerous drugs, distribution of dangerous drugs and possession of property subject to criminal forfeiture.
Police say a brick was thrown through the back window of TNT Gardening in Butte on Aug. 23. Surveillance video shows the juveniles taking 14 jars filled with marijuana.
Weeks later, Butte High School officials identified two other juveniles who were possibly using drugs and found their posts on Twitter.
Court records say the cousins acknowledged the burglary and one said they split the $1,400 they received from selling the pot.
