A group of alumni and others with ties to Penn State is finding a lot to criticize in the Freeh report that detailed the university's response to allegations that an assistant coach was behaving inappropriately with children.
Penn Staters for Responsible Stewardship says its review of the report turned up "failures" involving lack of disclosure, witnesses who were not interviewed and a supposed lack of evidence to back up conclusions about senior university administrators.
The 57-page report says the university should have examined the role of state and local government officials and former assistant coach Jerry Sandusky's charity, The Second Mile.
Sandusky is awaiting sentencing on 45 counts of child sexual abuse.
A spokesman for the Freeh Group declined immediate comment.
