Judge blocks testimony on Drew Peterson's stranglehold training as officer

The judge at Drew Peterson's trial has blocked a prosecution request to enter testimony that the former Illinois police officer once received strangle-hold training that would have helped him commit murder.

Prosecutors on Friday said they wanted to call someone who would say Peterson completed courses that included lesson on how to put a strangle hold on someone without injuring himself.

Judge Edward Burmila told prosecutors they haven't entered any testimony about just how Peterson might have killed his third wife, Kathleen Savio, in 2004. So, he says there are no grounds for entering evidence about his skills in subduing others.

But Burmila did give prosecutors the OK for a witness to talk about Peterson's crime-scene training. Prosecutors contend Peterson had the expertise to make Savio's murder look accidental.
