A shocking video posted online shows a young child locked inside a running washing machine at a Camden, N.J., laundromat.

The surveillance video, which was recently uploaded to YouTube and is dated May 11, shows a man placing the small child inside the machine.

Moments later, he and a woman are seen on camera frantically trying to pry open the locked door as the machine begins to spin and fill with water.

At one point, the two run for the help of an employee, who managed to open a door behind the washer and unplug it, Fox affiliate WNYW reported.

Sakia David, the mother of a toddler, says she and his father aren't the people in the video.

David said Wednesday she didn't even know about the May 11 incident until she saw the video on the news. She said her year-old son was treated at a hospital for scrapes and bruises and wasn't seriously injured.

Authorities say the man put the boy in the washing machine as a prank, unaware it would automatically start. They have said they don't expect to file criminal charges but the matter remains under investigation. The case also was referred to the state's Division of Youth and Family Services.

David said she believes it was an accident and she doesn't think anyone should be charged. But she said she'll "think twice" before allowing the woman to baby-sit her son again.
