Disassembly required: Colorado Department of Transportation offers up bridge for free

The Colorado Department of Transportation is offering up a piece of history -- for free.

The only problem: The item is a 77-year-old metal rust bridge that will require the buyer to disassemble, relocate and reassemble the structure all on their own dime.

The bridge is set to be demolished because it doesn't meet current design standards.

The department hasn't been able to put a price tag on the cost to adopt the bridge.

"Some of those questions are just not answerable right now," CDOT Senior Staff Historian Lisa Schoch told The Denver Post.
