New Jersey man survives shooting a 4-inch nail into his heart

You could say he nailed it.

A New Jersey man is lucky to be alive after accidentally shooting himself in the heart with a nail gun, the New York Daily News reports.

Dennis Hennis, 52, a self-employed builder, was working on his neighbor’s roof when his nail gun jammed. Hennis was trying to clear the tool when a nail shot into his chest and hit the right side of his heart, the paper reports.

"It felt like someone poking me in the chest, like a tap," Hennis told ABC News. "There was no pain, actually, but a lot of shock. I couldn't believe I had just done that."
