The top U.S. commander in Afghanistan is telling Congress today the U.S. will stay on course in Afghanistan.. that the U.S. will stick to the withdrawal calendar despite recent setbacks.

The suspect who killed four people at a French Jewish school yesterday was apparently wearing some kind of device and may have videotaped the attack. He's also being sought in the recent murder of three others. People in the region are understandably on edge.

Dozens have been killed in violence across Iraq today. There were attack from Karbala to Kirkuk.

Iran's supreme leader says his country can withstand the sanctions being imposed on it by the rest of the world over its nuke program. It's just the latest sign of defiance by Iran.

It comes as the U.S. is in the midst of a quiet massive buildup in the Persian Gulf of Naval forces. There are now 2 carrier strike groups in the Gulf (normally there is just one.)
