Children injured in Washington school bus rollover

The Washington State Patrol says about a dozen children have been injured, three seriously, in a school bus rollover accident near Quincy in the central part of the state.

Lt. Scott Martin says the bus veered off the road, overcorrected and overturned about 8:20 a.m. Monday on Highway 281 just south of Quincy, which is about 120 miles east of Seattle.

Martin says a medical airlift has been called for the serious injuries. Other injuries include bloody noses, scrapes and bruises.

There were 39 children on the bus.

Martin says the driver apparently was not injured.

No other vehicle was involved.
