GREENSBURG, Pa. – State police say a 14-year-old boy got beer from his 19-year-old brother and then sold or gave some to other students who allegedly drank it at their high school.
Officials with the Hempfield Area School District, about 25 miles east of Pittsburgh, have not immediately returned a call for comment Tuesday.
That's when troopers from the barracks in Greensburg announced they were investigating the incident. None of the teens involved is being named at this point, and no criminal charges have been filed.
Police say the 19-year-old and three minor teens are being investigated for selling or giving alcohol to minors. Eight juveniles are under investigation for possessing or consuming the beer.
Police say at least 11 students consumed a small amount of beer during the incident last week.
