WERNERSVILLE, Pa. –  Police are searching for an inmate they say drove away from a southeastern Pennsylvania jail in a stolen car.

State police say 29-year-old Jesus Manuel Gonzalez was to be transferred Monday from Wernersville Community Corrections Center for violating his parole by possessing contraband at the facility.

WPVI-TV reports investigators say he stole a car from the facility and fled before being picked up.

Gonzalez has a criminal history including burglary and receiving stolen property.
