10 Texas high school students arrested in drug bust

Ten Texas high school students and two former students were arrested for allegedly selling marijuana and prescription drugs until they were busted following a four-month investigation that included an undercover officer posing as a student.

Five of the students arrested Wednesday were classified as juveniles, reports.

The students, ranging in grades from sophomores to seniors, have been suspended as they await a hearing next week to see if they will be expelled.

"This operation was aimed specifically at students who were selling drugs on school property," Dr. Patricia Montgomery, the superintendent of Angleton Independent School District told

"We're not happy about this, but we are pleased that we are able to strike a blow against drug use among our students," she said.

The joint-investigation between the Angleton Independent School District, Arlington Police Department and Brazoria County Sheriff's Office produced 28 charges total among the 12 people arrested.
