SHEBOYGAN, Wis. – A 10-year-old Wisconsin girl saved her mom's life using CPR skills she learned watching the drama series "Grey's Anatomy."
Madisyn Kestell and her 12-year-old friend, Katelynn Vreeke, began using the life saving techniques they had seen on the hit show on Kandace Seyferth, when they found her on the ground suffering an asthma attack and unable to breathe, The Sheboygan Press reported.
"Me and my mom watch the show every Thursday, and I learned it from there," said Madisyn, of her mouth-to-mouth resuscitation skills.
Recovering from her near-death experience, the 36-year-old mother told the newspaper, "They [the firefighters and paramedics] pretty much said if Maddie didn't ... remain calm and call 911 and do what she did I wouldn't even be here to talk about it."
"You have no idea how proud I am," she said. "I can't believe it. I'm in shock."
"We have to chuckle afterwards to find out they learned it from 'Grey's Anatomy' … but chuckle in a good way," Seyferth's fiance, Dusty Poisson, said.
