NEW YORK – Police have arrested a New York City schoolteacher on charges of rape, sexual misconduct and giving drugs and alcohol to a child.
Officers in Brooklyn arrested 42-year-old Claudia Tillery on Tuesday afternoon.
The Brooklyn district attorney's office did not immediately release details Wednesday, and it was unclear who Tillery's lawyer was. The New York City Department of Education did not immediately return calls for comment.
The Daily News said Tillery is a humanities teacher at the Stephen Decatur Middle School in Bedford-Stuyvesant (STY'-vuh-sehnt).
