Veteran's Day: Happening Now - 11/11/11

Good morning!

Today is a special day - we commemorate all those who sacrificed and continue to sacrifice on behalf of this great country. Thank you to the members of the U.S. Armed Forces and to all those who have served. We salute you.

Commemorating Veteran's Day across the U.S. we have some great reporters highlighting their service. The President will participate in a wreath-laying ceremony at Arlington Cemetary and make remarks. We'll take it live.

There are reports out that Joe Paterno has contacted a high profile criminal defense attorney in the wake of the unfolding scandal at PSU. In the meantime, assistant coach Mike McQueary says he will not be at Saturday's game because of threats made against him.

A 25-year-old man was stabbed in the stadium parking lot last night after the Raiders beat the Chargers. His injury appears to be non-life threatening.

A man was shot and killed after a fight broke out at an Oakland anti-Wall Street protest encampment last night. There are no suspects at this time.

The AP is reporting that the International Criminal Court (ICC) may investigate NATO after allegations of crimes it committed in Libya.

One of Pres. Obama's most influential advisors on Iran and the Mideast is headed out. Amb. Dennis Ross has announced his departure from the White House as soon as December.

Brian Terry's family is speaking out about "Fast and Furious". They sat down with Fox reporter, William La Jeunesse, to tell their story. We'll play a portion of it during the show today.
