High drama over the date of the President’s joint address to Congress next week. The President has agreed with John Boehner’s suggestion to move it to Thursday Sept 8th. So NFL kickoff or a speech on jobs? You decide. Hopefully this means the conversation can return to finding jobs for the unemployed.

Speaking of jobs, we get weekly unemployment numbers today.

The rivers of New Jersey have finally crested after Hurricane Irene. Now the cleanup can begin. What a mess. The President will tour Paterson, NJ on Sunday.

Now we look to Hurricane Katia.. moving across the Atlantic. We don’t yet know if it will impact the U.S.

A big fire burning about 75 miles from Fort Worth, TX has already destroyed more than three dozen homes and is threatening hundreds more. Firefighters think they can make some ground this morning.
