We're still picking up the pieces from Hurricane Irene. More than a dozen communities in Vermont are still cut off. Supplies are being airlifted in. Many remain without power. Both CT and NJ have new flooding concerns today. Have you seen the pictures out of Paterson, NJ? Flooding there is awful. New Jersey ordered new evacuations. Irene will turn out to be among the nation's 10 costliest disasters. 44 are dead in 13 states. And FEMA is running out of money.

Another disaster unfolding right now in Oklahoma and Texas where wildfires have forced the evacuation of residents and many homes have burned. Drought conditions are exasperating the problem.

The President today at 10:35 will call on Congress to pass a clean extension of the surface transportation bill... debt ceiling 2.0?

Security is being stepped up nationwide in preparation for the 10th anniv of 9/11. The former heads of the 9/11 commission release a report today saying glaring problems remain with the nation's security. It says we still can't adequately check for explosives on planes and communications systems in urban areas are still not up to an emergency situation.

Sarah Palin will be in New Hampshire for a tea party rally this weekend. She says she'll make a decision "soon" about running for President.
