Tropical Storm Dora further weakens off Mexico

Tropical Storm Dora has weakened as it moves northwest in the Pacific off Mexico.

The U.S. National Hurricane Center in Miami says Dora's top sustained winds dropped early Saturday morning to 65 mph (100 kph).

Dora moved northwest at 8 mph (13 kph), and was expected to move parallel to the west coast of southern Baja, Calif. A tropical storm warning remained in effect for Mexico from Agua Blanca to Buenavista, including Cabo San Lucas.

Dora's center was 180 miles (290 kilometers) south/southwest of Cabo San Lucas. It's expected to weaken to a tropical depression by Sunday.

In the Atlantic, former Tropical Storm Cindy posed no threat to land as it moved northeastward out to sea. Former Tropical Storm Bret weakened and stayed well off the U.S. Atlantic coast.
