The family of a missing California mother issued a desperate plea for her safe return after the woman disappeared Tuesday from the Fresno office where she worked as a massage therapist.
Cindy Sambueso, 50, dropped her teenage daughter off at home before heading to her massage therapy business for a noon appointment, family members told KMPH-TV.
The family said they received two text messages from Sambueso at around 11:15 a.m. -- one confirming dinner plans for later that day, according to the station.
But Sambueso was never seen or heard from again. When a client arrived at her office for a 3:30 p.m. appointment, the office was reportedly dark and Sambueso was nowhere to be found.
Her cellphone was found inside the office, but her purse and car were gone, as well as her appointment book listing the name of the client she met with at noon, the station reports.
"The world is a bad world sometimes and those are things that happen. But we're staying positive," the woman's ex-husband, Robert Sambueso, told the station. Members also claim the woman would never have left voluntarily.
Fresno police are reportedly investigating Sambueso's disappearance, but say they have no evidence as of yet to consider it suspicious.
Sambueso was last seen driving a 2000 red Honda Accord with license plate number 4LVP286, according to the station. Anyone with information on her whereabouts is being urged to call the Fresno Police Department at 559-621-7000.
