An Arizona sheriff said he arrested a man working in the U.S. illegally at the Palo Verde Nuclear Plant, MyFoxPhoenix reports.
Cruz Loya Alvares, 32, was taken into custody and told Maricopa County deputies that he was in the country illegally for the past 15 years.
Alvares was deported from the U.S. in 2000, but wrangled his way back into the country after he paid a human smuggler, police said.
He was caught Tuesday when he entered the plant as a passenger in a contractor’s vehicle. Alvares presented guards with an Arizona identification card, but they later had suspicions that it was fraudulent and called the police.
