A Michigan father accused of killing his 4-month-old son allegedly told police he occasionally “plays rough” with the child, MyFoxDetroit.com reported.

On June 10, Richard Gillis III is accused of growing tired of the child's crying and slamming his head against a table, the station reported. The baby was hospitalized, and four days later, he was removed from life support at the University of Michigan hospital.

The infant, who was also named Richard, had suffered cerebral trauma, and an autopsy showed massive injuries, according to authorities.

Gillis had been living at a mobile home in Pontiac, Mich., for the past few months and kept to himself, according to neighbors.
