The family of a missing California nursing student is offering a $20,000 reward for the young woman's safe return, KTVU.com reports.

Michelle Hoang Thi Le was last seen Friday at the Kaiser Permanente Hayward Medical Center in Hayward, Calif., where she was attending class as part of a nursing course, according to the station.

Le, 26, reportedly told classmates that she was planning to leave for Reno at around 7 p.m. that night, but witnesses say the young woman left class during a break and never returned.

"It’s really hard not to assume the worst, but we’re trying," the woman's brother, Michael Le, told reporters. "That’s the hardest thing, staying positive."

Le lives in San Mateo with a roommate and takes most of her classes at Samuel Merritt University’s Hayward campus, ktvu.com reports.
