TRENTON, N.J.-- Business leaders surveyed say New Jersey is becoming a friendlier place to do business, but it still fares worse than other states.

Three-quarters of CEOs surveyed say the Garden State has become more responsive to companies' needs over the last six months. That's compared to just 30 percent who felt that way in 2009.

Seventy-four percent expect their revenues to go up in 2011.

But nine out of 10 CEOS also say tax policies are worse than in other states. Just 17 percent list New Jersey as a good or excellent place to grow a business.

While not a scientific poll, the survey by Rutgers University and the New Jersey Business and Industry Association reflects how business leaders perceive the state's economic conditions.
