CLEVELAND -- A Cleveland City Hall secretary who caused an April Fools' scare by telling her boyfriend there was a gunman in the building has been released without charges.

Police spokesman Sgt. Sammy Morris says the woman was released from jail Sunday after officers and prosecutors met.

She was arrested Friday after her boyfriend called 911 and said she told him she was hiding under her desk because a shooter was firing in City Hall.

Morris tells The Plain Dealer newspaper that the incident remains under investigation. The woman was to face a disciplinary hearing Monday.
