Employers added 103,000 jobs in December, an improvement from the previous month but not as many as economists were hoping for. The unemployment rate fell to 9.4 percent from 9.8 percent, but that was partly because many people gave up looking for work.'
For all of 2010, the economy gained 1.1 million net jobs. Below are some interesting figures from both the monthly report and for the year:
