Texas police are investigating several tips in the case of a 13-year-old girl who was reported missing after she failed to return from a friend's home.
Hailey Darlene Dunn, a student and cheerleader at Colorado City Middle School in Colorado City, Texas, was last seen on Dec. 27, according to authorities.
The girl was thought to be spending the night at a nearby friend's home, but was reported missing the next day by her mother, Billie Dunn, when she did not return home.
Police say they tried to issue an Amber Alert but were unable to do so because there is "not enough information" on Hailey's disappearance.
"The minimum standard for creating an Amber Alert is knowledge of a suspect, a description of a vehicle involved in an abduction and/or a route and direction of travel," Colorado City Police Chief John Bivens said in a statement.
“This community and, in particular, the family and friends of Hailey Dunn can be absolutely confident that we will continue to pursue the issuance of an Amber Alert with each additional piece of evidence we uncover until such a time as we meet the minimum standards established by the Amber Alert system in Texas," Bivens said.
A $10,000 reward is being offered for any tips leading to the girl's whereabouts and safe return. Authorities are urging anyone with information on the girl's disappearance to contact the Colorado City Police Department at 325-728-5294.
