Buffalo real estate developer Carl Paladino is the Tea Party-backed Republican candidate for governor of New York.

He is running against Democratic candidate and state attorney general Andrew Cuomo.

Paladino has made headlines for being a tough-talking, mad-as-hell politician.Lashing out at hisopponents, he has said Cuomo "should be in jail",accused him of infidelity, and has proposed"taking a bat" to the New York state government.

But he has promises for New York too -

  • Slicing personal income tax by 10 percent in the first year.
  • Cutting the size of New York's government by 20%.
  • Eliminating or cutting taxes on manufacturers.
  • Killing capital gains taxes for industrial companies.
