Attempted Murderer Escapes From Prison

A violent inmate is on the run, and investigators want your help to get him back into custody.

Attempted murderer/assaulter/kidnapper/burglar Douglas Alward broke out of the Sterling Correctional Facility in Sterling, CO last night. He was serving a 20- to 40-year sentence, but was going to be up for parole in October. Prison officials say he'd been on good behavior to this point. In fact, he'd worked his way down to a prisoner classification just below minimum risk.

  • Blue eyes
  • May be wearing prison-issued green uniform or gray sweats & white shirt
