A man pleaded guilty in a Dallas court Thursday to having unprotected sex with women without telling them he had AIDS, the Dallas Morning News reported.
Nathaniel Tumbwe will be sentenced to 15 years in prison for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon -- the possible transmission of his disease.
Tumbwe, 47, represented himself as a minister, a doctor and a prince to Carolyn Hudson, 60, and then sexually assaulted her in her home in October 2008.
The risk of transmitting the AIDS virus through unprotected sex between a man and woman is up to 10 percent, according to the report.
Hudson has not contracted the AIDS virus since the attack, but must be checked annually.
Tumbwe tested positive for HIV in 1996, but several witnesses during the trial said he did not take the deadly disease seriously. Experts said he frequently did not take medications and missed doctors’ appointments.
He faces deportation to Zambia once his sentence is completed.
