NEW YORK -- New York City police have removed gas cans from a car parked near the offices of a city utility and say nothing suspicious has been found.
NYPD investigators located the owner of the 1991 Oldsmobile Cutlass Ciera, which was found in front of the Con Edison utility building around 10 p.m. Thursday. He told police he had the gas cans in his car because he mows lawns for his family.
He parked the car in the area because he was attending a concert nearby, police said.
Chief police spokesman Paul Browne said nothing suspicious was found in the vehicle and it was likely the area would reopen.
A Con Edison employee reported the vehicle.
