President Obama gave a shout out to Congress today after the House decided the FDA should be in charge of tobacco. This is no small thing. Itll cover tobacco production, tobacco marketing and tobacco sales. The president said Congress has been trying to stop marketing cigarettes to kids for more than a decade. He also said this will allow the government to provide the public with the information they need to understand what a dangerous habit this is.
This bill will let the FDA see what goes into cigarette & tobacco products and then order changes if it wants.
Smoking is the most common cause of preventable deaths in the U.S.
