BND: 300,000 gallons of sewage leaking into SF Bay

From the Breaking News Desk: Sausalito-Marin City Sanitary District says it's investigation the cause of a pipeline leak that put San Francisco residents in harm's way. Potentially dangerous amounts of wastewater have spilled into the bay... the stinky water has not been treated or disinfected. Signs posted at beaches... but, so far no effects on drinking water.

The damaged pipe is sending 12,000 gallons of the stuff an hour into the bay. And, it could be hours before crews can repair it because the bad section is under water until low tide.

Officials estimate by the time they stop the leak... 300,000 gallons will have gone into the bay.
