Authorities say two police officers in South Texas have been shot and the suspected shooter has barricaded himself inside a house.
Hidalgo County Sheriff Eddie Guerra tells The Monitor (http://bit.ly/UmQNTF) of McAllen that the wounded officers are still inside the house because gunfire is continuing.
The shootout happened Tuesday afternoon when officers tried to serve a warrant on a murder suspect. The house is in the Rio Grande Valley town of La Joya (HOY'-yuh).
The warrant accuses the 29-year-old suspect of capital murder in the killing of a Mexican national found dead behind a vacant home in Edinburg last week.
