Fodor's Review:

Tennis

The City of Montréal maintains public tennis courts in several neighborhood parks. Fees vary from court to court but are generally quite reasonable. If you prefer to watch, the Rogers Cup in August is the perfect opportunity to catch international tennis stars hit center court.

Accès Montréal.  The Jeanne-Mance, Kent, Lafontaine, and Somerled parks all have public courts. For details, contact Accès Montréal. Montréal, QC. PHONE: 514/872-1111. www.ville.montreal.qc.ca.

The Rogers Cup.  Tennis fans will definitely enjoy this international tournament, which draws some of the biggest names in tennis to the metropolis every year. In existence since 1881, only Wimbledon and the U.S. Open have been around longer. Women play in Montréal the even years, while men play odd (with the opposite taking place simultaneously in Toronto). Tickets start as low as C$10 for single sessions. Lots of shops and restaurants are also on site. 285 Faillon St. Ouest, Villeray, Montréal, QC, H2R 2W1. PHONE: 1-855/836-6470. www.rogerscup.com.
