World's 10 most beautiful beaches

What’s more relaxing than hearing the sound of the waves gently lapping against the fine golden sand while you snooze under a palapa? Whether planning a family trip, a romantic tryst, or a long weekend away with friends, choosing the best beach is probably as important — or more — as booking the right hotel for your vacation. But nobody said it was easy to decide.  Oyster.com pulled together some gorgeous options for your viewing pleasure.

Delano Hotel, South Beach, Miami, Florida

The Delano is known for its gorgeous Philippe Starck design and all-night parties, but the stunning white-sand beach is no less impressive. It has an all-white décor of umbrellas and loungers, food and drink service, and a lifeguard.

Four Seasons Resort Costa Rica at Peninsula Papagayo, Guanacaste, Costa Rica

Playa Virador is one of the two beautiful beaches at the Four Seasons. It features wood loungers, shaded areas, and bar service, plus motorized and non-motorized water sports for guests. The hotel also provides water, towel and sunscreen stations, Evian spritzes, and afternoon popsicles.

Villa Montana Beach Resort, Aguadilla, Puerto Rico

This gorgeous private beach is the icing on the cake at Villa Montana, a low-key, well-maintained property in northwestern Puerto Rico. The comfy loungers, swaying palm trees, and food and drink service make it the perfect place for some R&R.

Catalonia Royal Bavaro, Punta Cana, Dominican Republic

The beach at the Catalonia Royal Bavaro is exactly what probably comes to mind when thinking about Punta Cana: white sand, clear waters, palm trees and small motor boats bobbing on the shore. Palapas provide shade, and the hotel offers lounge chairs, bar service, and sea kayaks and canoes. Plus, the property is adults-only, so the beach is somewhat quieter and more relaxing than most others in the D.R.

Fowl Cay Resort, Bahamas

Crowded beaches are unheard of on this private island resort where a maximum of 28 guests at a time have free range of 50 acres and three beaches, all of which have comfortable seating under palapas, and water sports equipment that guests can use free of charge.

Fairmont Royal Pavilion, Western Barbados, Barbados

While not as wide as other beaches in Barbados, this is one of the prettiest and quietest stretches of sand in the area. Because the Fairmont is adults-only during the high season and there are only 72 rooms, the beach never feels crowded.

Geejam, Port Antonio, Jamaica

Frenchman's Cove is arguably one of the world's most beautiful beaches, with soft white sands and crystalline waters. It's located near attractions, but it feels secluded and intimate, and is a favorite among couples.

Grace Bay Club, Turks and Caicos Islands

The Grace Bay Club boasts one of the largest and prettiest stretches of sand on Grace Bay, spanning miles and miles east of Providenciales. There are lounge chairs and umbrellas for guests, as well as cabana beds and bar service. The hotel offers torch-lit dinners for two on the beach.

Gran Melia Cancun, Hotel Zone, Cancun

Almost every beach in Cancun is absolutely gorgeous, but this one is particularly clean, wide and pristine. It has the region's standard fine white sand and turquoise waters, plus cabana beds under palapas and beachside bar service. And it doesn't feel as crowded as other stretches of sand in the area.

Rosewood Little Dix Bay, Virgin Gorda, British Virgin Islands

The iconic Rosewood is located on one of the best stretches of sand on Virgin Gorda Island. The clear Caribbean waters lap the fine white sand on the beach, lined by a lush tropical forest with palm trees and other local flora. There are canoes and kayaks available, and a marina for those arriving by boat.
