Flying these days can involve quite a bit of hassle at the security line, but most experienced travelers know the system--shoes and bags on the belt, body through the screener.

However, one traveler caught on a CCTV camera in Chengdu, China probably could have used a little extra help navigating the x-ray machine process.

A man is seen approaching the conveyor built meant for luggage as an airport attendant points to the machine.  But instead of placing his bag on the belt, the traveler, misinterpreting the attendant’s prompts, proceeds to climb up into machine—bag in hand.

“The moment a man climbed into an X-ray machine at a train station’s security checkpoint has been caught on CCTV. The confused traveller, who had never taken the tube before, misunderstood staff instructions in Chengdu, China,” according to BT.com which obtained the video from sharing service Newsflare.

The video, which surfaced late last month, has amassed over 360,000 Facebook views and many amused comments.

“There is a first time for everyone and everything. At least he is open to trying new things!” wrote Luke Woolhouse.

But some say those quick to laughter shouldn’t be judgmental.

“Laugh it out guys, don't judge the guy. There's so many dialects in China and some people speak with thick accent. I sometimes have trouble understanding people from my own province... maybe that's what happened here,” wrote user DengKe Jiang.

The video cuts off before we the traveler resurface from the x-ray machine but hopefully the attendant provided clearer instructions on the second time around.

When security staff asked a man not exactly familiar with the procedure to go through X-ray screening, he did something no one could have expected. #VideofromChina
