It’s not everyday that you’re invited to stay at the former home of a king--in a castle no less. But now all of your royal dreams have been answered with the opening of India’s latest luxury resort.

India's Neemrana Fort Palace was recently renovated into a grand hotel property with 55 bedrooms, two swimming pools, a spa and the country's first zipline. The palace has multiple wings, covering six acres of land over 12 separate levels of hillside. The property is located in Rajasthan, just two hours from the Indian capital city of New Delhi.

Steeped in royal history, the property dates back to 1464 and was the home of the descendants of Prithviraj Chauhan III, king of the Rajput Chauhan dynasty, according to the Daily Mail.

Despite the palace falling into ruin during the 20th century, the property has been fully restored with modern comforts while retaining its signature royal charm.

“Neemrana offers a unique experience of seeing and living history,” a spokesperson told the Mail. “It has all the facilities of a modern five-star resort, in a truly historic setting, allowing you to enjoy modern comforts while you relax in a reminder of a royal past.”

The hotel suites have been decorated with traditional Indian antiques and furniture for an authentic experience.

Thinking about the Neemrana Fort Palace for your next getaway? Hotel rates start at just under $85 a night.

Looks like living like a royal doesn’t have to break the bank.
