The famous Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade is a sight worth seeing — if you can manage to shove your way through the crowds to get a peek, that is. If you book one of these hotels along the parade route, you could watch the giant balloons and floats from the comfort of your hotel room. Be warned, though — many rooms will cost more than three times the normal rates.

Mandarin Oriental, New York

The Mandarin Oriental is the best choice in the city for luxury travelers who want to celebrate Thanksgiving in style. Premier Central Park View rooms and suites on the 43rd to 54th floors have superb parade views through floor-to-ceiling windows, and guests who book the I Love A Parade package can watch from the 6,000-square-foot ballroom. (The package also includes access to the hotels Mandarin Ballroom during the parade, which boasts even more floor-to-ceiling windows and city views, and a seasonal surprise upon arrival).

When reserving rooms, guests can choose from a full aerial view (floors 18-33); a partial, back end view (floors seven -24); or a full, premium parade view (floors seven-17). A premium view will cost you about $400 more per night, but the recession-friendly "no view" rooms mean you can not only save on the price, but also watch the floats go by from the front lobby.

Opened in 2007, the sleek, stylish 6 Columbus is a great option for young socialites in search of a great place to view Thanksgiving parade in trendy, upscale atmosphere. Not all the rooms have views, so make sure to book a room with views of Columbus Circle to see the parade, or nab a spot on the coveted rooftop bar Above Columbus with 360 degree views and retractable roof.

Warwick New York Hotel

This 1926-built Warwick Hotel may be just five blocks from Central Park, but it's Sixth Avenue that is the center of the New York action during the Macy's parade. Premier Plus Rooms and higher (including Sixth Avenue Suites) all have street views that look out over the parade. But if you can splurge on the two-bedroom Suite of the Stars, the whole family can watch the parade in its near-entirety from the private balcony with a 50-person capacity.

Trump International Hotel And Tower

Parade-view rooms at the Trump are hard to come by, and they're already sold out for this year. The coveted rooms and suites with park views usually book a year in advance, so if a luxurious atmosphere and top-notch services are a must, then you can start making arrangement for next year's parade. Just be ready to drop close to $1,000 per night for this prime location.
