You can’t travel under the sea with Ariel until December, but Disney has released a new batch of images to give you a sneak peak of the detailed Disney World attraction.
The new Under the Sea - Journey of The Little Mermaid attraction will open on Dec. 6 in the Magic Kingdom’s New Fantasyland. The omnimover ride, which will be housed in Prince Eric’s castle, will take you through audio-animatronic scenes from the 1989 movie.
Journey of The Little Mermaid will take visitors on a trip inside Ariel's colorful world by way of clamshell-style vehicles -- similar to Ariel’s Undersea Adventure at the Disney California Adventure theme park, which opened in June, 2011. The Disney Park's blog says Magic Kingdom's this version of the attraction will be different, particularly on the outside.
Many of the highly anticipated Fantasyland attractions, including Journey of the Little Mermaid, the Be Our Guest Restaurant (which will offer beer and wine), and Enchanted Tales with Belle, have previews set to begin on Nov.19 --just in time for the Thanksgiving break.
The ‘Dumbo’-inspired Storybook Circus section is already open. It features the revamped Barnstormer rollercoaster and a bigger Dumbo the Flying Elephant ride.
